ScreenCell technology preserves the viability, proliferative and invasive potential of CTCs. Cells of interest are isolated alive and maintained in culture, allowing expansion and ex vivo characterization of CTC subpopulations. The optimal technical and microenvironment conditions for the isolation and expansion of CTCs have been defined using ScreenCell devices. This opens opportunities to understand the process of metastasis and drug resistance.
Alternatively, cells can be detached and obtained in suspension allowing single cells analysis and further applications like 3D culture.
